BETHEL'S PROGRAM IS UNIQUELY FAITH BASED

Bethel Ministries was created to help individuals in need to 'transform while they
transition'
before reentering main stream society. Bethel Ministries is for those men
who
are desirous to change and pursue a better way of life.

People whose lives may included, drug addiction, alcoholism,
homelessness, and a total lack of discipline and purpose in their life, but
who after leaving incarceration want a fresh start and chance to prove
themselves a responsible citizen again.

Studies around the world and throughout the U.S. have demonstrated the positive
results obtained through Christ centered faith based recovery programs for those
desiring to change their lives. And Bethel Ministries in Boise Idaho is there for them.

This model is based on Christ centered programs currently in operation
throughout our country. We do not claim to be able to change hearts. What we are
able to do is introduce others to the only one who can change lives, our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.

Our clients enter into a private residence and live in a family setting, semi-protected,
and away from areas of temptation with a live-in house leader. During their six to
twelve month stay they are matched with mentors, church and para-church groups,
are expected to obtain employment, attend 12 step programs and participate in
group and individual counseling, meet with licensed counselors, psychiatrists and
psychologists as required on an individual basis. They are introduced to local
churches where they can begin to attend and develop relationships with individuals
that can be a positive influence and encouragement in their lives all in an effort to
guide individuals into a victorious and successful life through Christ.

The entire process is designed to bring about positive results: teaching
by example; discipline, work ethic and how a family and individuals should function
together. Already, much fruit has been born.

THE LORDS COMPASSION AND MERCY!

MANY MEN do wake up to the past horror of
their sins and crime upon love ones and society.
Bethel Ministries exists because it knows
that:
"The Lord is nigh unto them that are
of a broken heart, and saveth such as are of a
contrite spirit:
 Psalms 34:18 ASV.

The Lord God needs laborers as conduits, in many areas of society to further His saving grace
and Bethel Ministries has stepped up to the plate in faith.

Bethel is about those men and the community they must live in! Bethel carefully considers each
man  before he becomes a Bethel resident. Bethel considers whether those aspects of  character
as described in scripture are present.  Such as those which describe a repentant attitude as In
Psalms 25:18,  "Look at my misery and suffering, and forgive all my sins."  And,
Isaiah 55:6-7  "Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while
he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our
God, for he will abundantly pardon
."

Bethel serves those with a desire for a true change of heart, who wonder how they
will ever start over again, knowing the difficulties of re-building bridges to family
and a community. Many understand they must go through a transition from what
and how they were before and wonder HOW they can go about such a transition
and if they will be given fair opportunities to start over again and prove themselves.
It is a rare and precious opportunity to serve those who are finally yielded and
ready to make some commitments to change their lives and look to you for help to
do it.

Having and showing our forgiveness and patience with people in the process of
change can only succeed by drawing strength and determination from faith in the
Lords methods. We consider,
Luke 17:3-5 which explains,   . . .  "If a believer sins,
correct him. If he changes the way he thinks and acts, forgive him. Even if he
wrongs you seven times in one day and comes back to you seven times and says
that he is sorry, forgive him. "Then the apostles said to the Lord, "Give us more
faith." ASV
So Bethel is taking God and His methods, at His word, in a work of patient FAITH!

Prospective Bethel residents know they need help and want it. And in order for them to not
become discouraged, or give up to a life of crime all over again, they definitely need a place to
receive compassion, forgiveness, proper direction, support and hope. Bethel provides this help
with the understanding and faith in Biblical teachings such as:
 Isaiah 55:6-7 which says, "
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near
: Let
wicked people abandon their ways. Let evil people abandon their thoughts. Let
them return to the LORD, and he will show compassion to them. Let them return
to our God, because he will freely forgive them."ASV

TRULY FAITH BASED, Bethel Ministries strives to help repentant men make this personal
life altering transition back into society with a renewed spirit and right direction. Bethel faithfully
takes up this particular Biblical "cross to bare", so to speak, and endeavors to provide a most
successful and proven, now award-winning alternative to re-entry into the community. Seeking
the overall improvement for the good of all.

What motivates Bethel Ministries ?
A BIT OF HISTORY

Bethel  recognized the importance of developing an ongoing relationship with Christ
Jesus in each  person, wanting to help men who, having great obstacles to overcome,
desired the kind of help necessary to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and
make a new life.

Bethel Ministries believed that such new Christians would need support from each other,
the Church, and the greater community  if they were going to truly change their lives and
stay out of prison. Bethel saw that men would need help finding jobs, making new friends,
participating in educational programs and proper leadership that would help them build a
whole new way of living.

(The actual street sign in Boise.)

The first house was a miracle of God in that while  looking for a house to serve as a
transitional home, a simple  street sign, "Bethel" was an inspiration.  The word Bethel
means 'House of God'.  And driving further  down the street, a "for rent" sign was in plain
view. Upon checking it out, the house owner was more than helpful getting  "Bethel
Ministries" off the ground. The house was the first miracle and to this day, miracles have
abounded.

Over the years, three additional transition homes were added in order to accommodate
more men into Bethel's program. Bethel has humbly received awards for it unique
program.

Today, more than a hundred men have come through this ministry. Our graduates are
flourishing as they successfully continue in a new way of living with hope
for their future! The ministry has well over a 90% success rate in men who have not gone
back to prison. God continues to bless this ministry with miracle after miracle making
it truly faith based.
